John Hager (cartoonist)

John "Dok" Hager (1858-1932) was an American cartoonist, creator of the comic strip Dok's Dippy Duck, which was published in the Seattle Times starting in 1917. Hager's nickname stems from his time as a dentist in Terre Haute, Indiana before he moved to Seattle, Washington in 1889 and began working for the Times. Hager retired in 1925 due to blindness.
